I am looking at a busted PL-600 that I can possibly repair, or a working PL-500 for about double for my first TT. Both are the old silver ones (the good ones). Not sure what the differences are, or how easy it would be to repair a platter/arm that isn't moving. I have repaired plenty of electronics but TTs are new ground. I can't even figure out what the differences are between the 2 tables, or if the extra hundo is worth it to not have to deal with repairs :/. Any advice is appreciated
Edit: PL-600 guy offered a Technics SL D-303 thrown in for free (missing a few parts, but otherwise functional), for the price if all else fails I can part out one to fix up the other. Time to make poor decisions and take on new projects!
