plant stand for speakers

Does anyone use plant stands for their speakers ? I am looking for something about 20" high .. pair MA Bronze 100, currently on black monoprice stands, and they are too big for the stands..they sound good, but was hoping to get them on something more substantial..


Something like THIS perhaps from wayfair ..

Most top plates are smaller than the speaker.

It appears your speakers are 9 x 13 inches and the top plate of your stands are 10 x 12 inches. You don't have a problem.
 
You still don't have a problem. It's rare that the top plate is the same size or larger than the speaker. The vast majority are smaller and there's nothing wrong with that. If anything, buy some stands that can be mass loaded and spiked.

I've seen wood foot stools used. Small children's stools and chairs. And like you show plant stands. Couple years ago, I saw welded steel with wood top end tables at Target that had potential. Possibly Hobby Lobby might have something you could use.

And I remember them have samples of concrete garden penestals as stands. Haven't searched thier site recently.

These are excellent stands, which should be mass loaded and come with spikes, although they are cheap ones. Anyway, you can also order with a larger top plate and if you ask nicely he will usually size them to your specs.

Folks tend to discount the importance of speaker stands when they should be considered an integral part of whatever speakers are sitting on them.

I have a pair of Teak kitchen chairs without the seat or back cushion that make gorgeous speaker stands -
I have a multichannel system of 4 UREI Monitors, a pair for front mains, this pair as the side surrounds,
and a pair of DCM TF600s (that need no stands) as rear surrounds.
