Aaargh!! I can't take it anymore!!
Just when I think that I have my heart set on a new Aquos 46" 1080p, I stumble upon this thread.
 
The problem with buying the TVs is that they can be adjusted so as to give desired results - or so messed up that you'd wonder why anyone would bother with that brand/model.

Buying a HDTV is even worse/harder than auditioning audio gear, IMO.
 
It really doesn't matter.As soon as you buy it,it will be obsolete and/ or cheaper somewhere else.:D
 
I'm terrified, but I've got to have one soon...

My plan is to buy a new HDTV of at least 46" after tax time next year. I've been researching and trying to keep up on the new ones for about 2 years now. I had my mind made up that it was probably going to be a Sharp Aquos with as big a screen as I could afford,(46" or larger) and it was going to hang on the wall. What scares me most about these new TV's is that just to replace the lamp in a lot of them cost's more than I've ever spent on a TV in my life except for one.
