Please Help! Figuring out the culprit and cure

Hey hey, hope everyone is doing well. I have a dilemma; and while this has been discussed before, I haven’t found any specific answers that suit my case. Here we go…

I recently purchased a mint, still in shrink copy of an album that’s almost 30 years old (only after did I realize shrink can be no bueno). Upon opening I saw that it had that dreaded cloudy white coloring all over it. Even a good cleaning couldn’t remove it all or give the record any shine. I said let’s do a needle drop anyway.

Throughout the entirety of Side A, I hear a “swoosh swoosh” in the same spot. Side B plays perfectly. At first I thought it was the cloudiness…

Upon further inspection, I ALSO noticed that the stylus tracks over warps in the spot I hear the swoosh. Every rotation it gets to the warp area, does a little bounce and swoosh swoosh in perfect unison. I have other warped records that don’t do this.

This had me wondering, is it the warp causing it, the cloudiness, both? I tried my Michell clamp to no avail - also Side A sounds great, besides the swoosh every 2 seconds.

From my limited knowledge "swooshing" usually indicates that the record has got hot, causing the vinyl to take on a textured appearance. This happened to some of my dad's records that were in a cabinet in front of a radiator. Somehow, they got pushed back so the edge was touching the radiator, and they got the "swooshing warp".

This is very interesting, considering the outer and inner sleeve has some textured ripples on it. Led me to believe there was maybe heat or water damage. Thanks for the response and insight!
