Please help identify this speaker

I recently bought a speaker. The owner said that the speaker was used by a band. But the there was no brand name on the speaker. I took some pics.
Any information on Brand Name, Model number, and on how good the speaker is, would be appreciating.

Thanks

Haul the woofer outta there and take down the serial numbers on the back of the magnet. Someone will be able to tell you what it is by the numbers.

That's a "bottom" cabinet for a bass guitar "stack". It usually would have been used with a 4x10" cabinet on top of it, for a "full stack", in a bi-amplified (lows to the bottom cabinet, highs to the top cabinet, from separate amp channels in the instrument amplifier/head) setup.

The Marlboro amps and speaker cabinets were originally sold by Montgomery-Ward's department stores- their equivalent of the Slivertone amps and speakers sold by Sears Roebuck and Co. Apparently, some people like these amps- for example, it is said that Audrey Creed of the Black Crowes used to use a Marlboro setup in early years...

In our specific case here- this is probably of limited use for "hi-fi" applications... the tuning is higher than any subwoofer, and the woofer is probably fairly high-resonance too...

Regards,
Gordon.

Looking further at that cabinet- I wonder if this is something that originally was made by Peavey, for Montgomery Ward's? Sure looks like Peavey construction. Even the little black-and-white tag on the back looks like Peavey's style of label...

What I was thinking too.

Thanks for the information.
So Is this speaker called "Marlboro Base Guitar Stand"? Is the driver original one?

Thanks

Probably is the original driver. Pull it out, and take a picture of any writing on the back of the magnet. The date code will tell you if it's the right age to be the original driver (usually a very good indicator)...

Gordon.
