Please help identifying woofer...

Curse

Old Uncle Thingy
Hello,

I only have these pictures at the moment, and was wondering (a long shot i know) if anyone can ID this woofer from the front alone.

As it stands, it been used as a replacement in a Wharfedale Teesdale SP2, a 40Watt continuous, 80 watt peak speaker and has been sealed in by the previous owner, so I cannot check the magnet weithout causing destruction.

Thanks for any assistance!

Dan

The whizzer cone indicates more of a FR speaker than a woofer. Radio shack maybe. Pull it and a read the back.

Thanks for your help, I'll try and pull it and check.

I've read several of your other posts regarding Wharfedales, and have had very good experience with the E.50, they have a great sound to my ears!

Do you have any experience with the Teesdale SP2?

Cheers,

Dan

I agree with the Radio Shack suggestion. It looks like an inexpensive full range driver, and if not Radio Shack, possibly one of the companies that makes the speakers they put in the ceiling in stores.
If it sounds good, then you might just use the speakers as they are, but I suspect at some point you might be less satisfied, at which point, you can replace them. But you are unlikely to find the exact replacement at an affordable price except by lucky chance, so enjoy them as long as you can.

Thank you for your suggestions - the speakers haven't actually arrived at my place yet - they should arrive sometime today (fingers very crossed!)

Once they're here, I'll appraise them as best I can and get some pictures up on here...
