Please help me identify where my speakers should be located

Where should speakers be placed in 3 open side 20' by 50' pool area with wall only on one 50' side?

Hi, I've designed a system for my daughters pool area. the space is 20' by 50' and is open on three sides and against the wall on one of the 50' sides. Please kind people help me find best setting. Along wall is easiest while overhang is difficult option.

I did not look at the attachment...but honestly, for the outdoor space as you describe, I'd go with 1 or 2 decent omni-directional speakers that can be tucked out of the way...

What prevents you from not creating a 4 speaker surround set-up? Stands could be used for the far side.

Also, have you considered the impact on bordering neighbours? Direction of sound would be an added factor as to the height of your speakers.

Out door environments don't have room gain to help speakers reproduce bass. So you need to place your speakers against a sturdy wall if available to get some bass. Secondly Your speakers will need to be very efficient because it takes a lot more energy for speakers to be effective out doors because there is no enclosed room to re- enforce the sound. You want Something close to or exceeding 100 db per watt. jBL. EV, and very efficent ALtec LAnsing, even KLipsch come to mind. Plus the speakers need to be water proof. I guess larger JBL or EV with at least 12 or 15 inch woofer. I don't know if KLipsch makes professional outdoor Herseys any more. Proessional LA Scalas would be just to expensive. EV use make a 15" pool side coax speaker that worked well against a wall out doors and was close to 100 db efficient. Of course the sound can never be over 55 db, Slow, A weighted at the property line in some cities after 10 PM at night. WE have these rules but know one seems to enforce them when there is a neighborhood party going on. The party just gets larger as curious folks stop by to see who got married or became 15, or who has been married 20, 30, 40, or 50 years or maybe just engaged. .

Thank you. I put a single Polk atrium 8 SDI and it was loud enough. The 1,000 square feet is simply too small for the kind of sound reinforcement you speak of. I have a 10" sub in the scope.
 
As an outside-of-the-box thought...what about going the portable BT speaker route?

In the past 10 years, quality, battery life and ruggedness of said speakers have improved a lot. Added mobility of positioning would be an added plus.

Surround may be way to go. Daughter would not accept stands, just top of "room". Have been concerned about how narrow the space is. Large estate no neighbors.

If you haven't already purchased the Polks might I suggest Kicker outdoor speakers, the brand is known for their ruggedness.

I first used Kicker drivers in a small Toyota 4X4 where Polks died, Infinitys cought on fire, and the Kickers didn't break a sweat, all driven by the same Rockford amp.

I currently have a pair of these on my rear lanai and they get silly loud even driven by a 34watt Kenny integrated.

I have been led to believe, reflections are actually a small consideration when positioning speakers. The most important attribute is whether speakers are best at listeners back or front. You see listeners will mostly be looking at the pool area which is away from the wall. The latter question is therefore very important. Locating the speakers at the ceiling-wall interface puts the speakers at the listeners back. Does anyone have clarity on this feature of speaker placement.
