Please help me:Pioneer PDR-W739 or Marantz CD-4000

Hi friends!i need your advice please:actually my CD-player is a good Marantz CD-4000.
I'd like to know if the Pioneer PDR-W739 CD player is better than the Marantz CD-4000.
I know that the Pioneer is a recorder-player CD,but i don't use the recorder function,I'm searching only for a Cd player that sounds fine.:scratch2:

I have Pioneer CDP (changer and single). Good details and sound as well as quality at 7 series (MSRP $725.)
You may give it a try and see it fits your taste of sound and decide to drop 1 after then.

My understanding of Pioneer is they rated their line of product from 9 to 4 ( or less) with 9 being the highest , 4 is more for the mass population and hence least sophisticated (not necessarily the least sonic performance ). Lists of pioneer CDP in domestic japan model:

As PDR-w739 (MSRP $ 725) is regarded mid-high quality. My friend had a PD-M426
and he said he has no complain.
I have had PD-M701. Very high quality and sweet sound too.
These models are all made in Japan

My final comment: Test for 100% working condition or ask if it is Returnable.

Unfortunately the items aren't returnable,for this reason I need opinions from you.
The only possibility i've can be ebay,I could sell it if i don't like them.
I hope that someone (a part TLCW) that know the both CD player (or at least some similar model from the Pioneer and Marantz production) give me a little help.

As Pioneer is not returnable but is it guaranteed or at least stated "100% working" ?
If so and the cost is cheap, take it home to hear and decide.
People normally like Marantz for comfortable and easy listening while for pioneer, it has a faster ( energetic) sound.
I have been listening Pioneer PD-M801 for 3 hours today. All kind of music (classical, jazz, vocal) are details, sweet , no fatigue.
** Note: PDR-W739 is 3CD read + 1 CD recording trays *** You may leave 3 (or 4) favorite CDs inside- good for background play.
