Please help! I was changing the belt on my Weltron 2001’s 8-track player and these 3 wires became disconnected and need to be resoldered. The problem is I do not know what they get soldered to. I believe the brown one goes to the power source (where the plug is inserted).

Without knowing what the other ends of the wires connect to, we'd just be guessing. And even we did know, there's no guarantee we could figure it out. There aren't any reliable wire color standards.
ETA: looks like @Okke 70s repaired one of these a few years ago. Maybe he'll see this and chime in.

The corrosion on the metal frame looks pretty bad, are you sure the belts are the only problem?

As for figuring out which wire goes where, try using a 10X loupe to analyze the broken wire ends, as well as the soldered points, to see if you can match them up by using any bits of solder left on the wires and the soldered spots. Or by how the wire broke, and match that to the wire left in the soldered joint. They are all unique breaks, if you look at them closely enough.
Holding one wire end close to each soldered point, while inspecting them with the 10X loupe, may help to identify which wire goes where.

The brown wire attaches to the power button. That is really the only one I am concerned about. When I touch the brown wire to either of these points on the box that the power source plugs into, the unit powers on. I just don’t want to solder it to the wrong one and cause an issue. Does that help at all?

So it would appear the cables are to do with power supply. Any chance the other two are for the battery tray? Or perhaps a net voltige/frequency switch? It's not like I can tell from memory.
And as Swechsler tried to ask I believe: where do the wires go to, on the side that is still attached?

Right, let's assume the brown is where it should be. And those other two wires are connected to that low voltige power socket dangling in the air right? Then I would definitely take a look at the battery compartment. Is it currently wired-up? It might be that this is what those wires are for, just hooked up in parallel with the low voltige power socket.
Which then makes me think: the batteries probably sit right under there (given the short wires). So perhaps all that rust is from leaking batteries once in there?

So do you think I am safe leaving it as is and putting it back together? It seems to work fine now. I do not plan on using batteries or the car as a power source. Also it seems that where the plug is inserted there is a clip underneath so that when it’s inserted it cuts battery power and Ac/dc takes over. That is why I think the red and black wires connect to the sides of the input jack.

I concur, if you don't intend to run on battery or external low voltage, just reconnect brown power wire where it needs to go. Lots of rot in there, perhaps that's also why wires broke off. Hopefully no corrosion wicked up under the insulation so it's an easy fix.

Can always use electrical tape to tape the ends of the two loose wires, so they cannot short.
I took your advice. I soldered the brown wire as planned. Then I took electrical tape and wrapped the ends of each red and black wired. I then wrapped (via tape) them to the brown wire to keep them out of the way. They are shorter so no problem there. Then put everything back together. Has been working fine. I believe the red and black wires connect to the car adapter source which I will not need.
