I was all set to buy a set of b&w 602 s3's. I found someone else selling a set of 603 s2's. They are the same price (350)

Is that a good price?

Then i saw a set of 685s on ebay with a "buy it now - free shipping" for 500

I know for sure that the 602's and 603's are very close to mint

as far as my listening:

75% video
25% music

any help is appreciated

i've seen 602's sell for a lot less all the time. both on ebay and locally on CL. maybe not the s3's though.
i also like paradigm bookshelves, and they're somewhat cheaper usually.

can you recommend a set of paradigms comparable?

i have not heard their newest versions, but i liked most of their older models i heard (80's, 90's, early 00's).

atom's, titan's, monitors, mini monitors, model 3, 5, 7, and etc.

they usually sell for under $100 - $300.

here's one example that sold for $38! that's ridiculous. i've had exact same pair and they really sounded good.

I'd seriously consider some NHT SuperZeros and a sub, especially since your listening is tilted strongly in favor of video, where the receiver will be handling the crossovers anyways. You shouldn't have any trouble finding this combo for less than your stated budget.
