Looking for a speaker recommendation here. Just picked up a pair of 12b's, Wow very impressive. After having some 10's it was a real step up. now in short order I have the opportunity to pick up a pair of SDA 2b's

Is there a big difference in sound? Anyone had both pair? I will not be able to hear them until I buy them which is the reason I'm looking for some input.

Both are impressive sounding speakers, but display distinct characteristics. The SDA effect is very prominent & may have a slight edge in postive opinions, but you will have to judge for yourself which one pleases you.

I like the 12B's.

This is true if you have the interconnect cable that connects the two SDA units, without it no SDA effect.

I have the SDA 2A, with upgrades and mods. I'm not knowledgeable enough to say what the sonic differences are but I really like mine especially after I got a more powerful amp to drive them. There do like good clean power.

There are knowledgeable, helpful people at the Polk forum http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/index.php ask there about the 2B and the 12B.

Enjoy those 12Bs, good luck. Preston

If these 2b's are near birmingham, al then no they suck. Don't buy them. They are overpriced, the interconnect cable is broke, and all the drivers have voice coil damage. I'm going over there when I get back from vacation to carry them to the dump. Save your money. ;)

The sda's have a great soundstage and imaging, but not close to the low end that the m12' do . Stacking both pair is something I have tried before , if you have the room try it out. Just be sure whatever amp your hooking to the sda's is common ground.
