Polk Audio Model 10's Vs Monitor 10b's

Hey guys I have a chance to get a pair of Polk Audio Model 10's at a great price but I have a pair or Monitor Series 10b's and I was hoping to get a matching pair but I just talked to the owner of the model 10's and he tells me that on the back of the cabs in the middle is a sticker that says Polk Audio Model 10
Are these the same as the Monitor Series. Also there is a fuse on the back of his whereas my 10b's dont have that. What is the difference in the two?

No I am serious. They look like the monitor 10b's that I have but they have a fuse on the back and mine doesnt. They also have the sticker that says

There is a difference and I would really like to know what it is if only cosmetic. I am getting them for 50 bucks

The original model 10 had 2 fuses per spkr. I owned 10As which had one fuse. I don`t know what the 10Bs had fuse wise. My 10As had a tighter bottom than my bro.`s original 10s. They were all Monitor series. Go to Polk`s website. They have a vintage forum which will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about the original Monitor series.

I told ya they were the same, now go get them, stack them and tell us how they sound!!!

Oh and post some pic's too, that would be fun, stacked monitor 10's!!!!

We've all seen 10B's, but we haven't all seen your wife. :thmbsp:

Wes,
Mine have the sticker in the middle, and say "Model 10", not Monitor 10! I believe these to the 1st genration of 10's!

and they need work too, they have 2 diff tweets, one silver and one black. And I believe each speaker has 2 diff model mids in them!

But they still sound good!
 
Yep I am picking them up tomorrow afternoon. They are in great condition per the owner and the price is really good. The last pair I got ( Monitor 10B ) cost me 70.00 for the pair and I LOVE them...

Maybe these are supposed to have differents subs??? If not, maybe we should do some swapping!!!
