Polk SDA SRS Speakers

Consecutive #'s on the SRS's is somewhat rare, so no problem there. Those are sweet speakers, there the same as mine. You won't need to replace anything but the tweeters, but you should just use them for awhile before you change anything. You won't be disappointed.
 
That's pretty high $$ for stock SRS's which are the earlier version of that model but still a wonderful sounding speaker. And yes you'd need a common ground amp to run them which most amps are. It's easy enough to double check the amp in question with a multimeter if you're unsure.
Fwiw it's worth when I brought my 1st pair of sda's home 8 years ago (2.3s) they were replacing a pair of chorus II's. A month later those II's went to a new home.
If you're serious about owning some of the bigger guys you should visit the polk forum. Occasionally they'll pop up for sale in their classified section.The members are also very knowledgeable and willing to help.
 
I think anyone who thinks they can push 1.2TLS W. AVR is nuts. Yes you wil get some music but nowhere the amount that is produced out of those and will clipp w/o the right amp. My 2Bs are powerered by an Adcom gfa 555,200wpc. Those monoliths need a lot of power so not to strain your system and get that deirsed SDA effect and need the i/c cable to also achive said effect or as some say non effect.Over at the Polk Universe there are tutorials and handbooks full on the care and feeding of every model SDA generation ever made and the mods to improve on the already great stock sound.
 
alarmme these are the original SDA's.. not the 1.2's. They are listed on the auction site if you want to have a look see.. One thing that keeps me looking at these is that the seller isnt too far from me and will deliver, makes it a big plus in my case.

Thanks for the pat on the back DC, but my experience is limited. Those monsters will work - that is will perform - with lesser powered amps or receivers but you will NEVER touch their potential without at least a GOOD 200/wpc amp. It's a different model, but the Polk SDA SRS 2.3TL that tygr got from me not long ago greedily sucked up peaks from a 550wpc Crest amp I had pushing them. What you get is clean dynamics and a fullness of sound that lesser powered amps just can't match.

I hope you get them, but FWIW, that price is high, although the cond. is outstanding. If money is no object, go for it, otherwise, if he's close, show up with a pickup truck(you'll need it) and $1800.00, and see what he says
 
I think these are the the 1.2TL models.These are not mine and I still do not have the Polk nomenclature down to say like Klipsch ,yep thats a Forte. This guy was using old blackface Sanusi Integrated amps at a few different listening rooms.

Ordered mine new in 1988 - still going strong! They love as much current and power as possible. I thought they sounded great with my Carver TFM-45 (375 wpc) but when I upgraded to the Sunfire Signature Two (600 wpc 8 ohms) they really opened up!
 
Waayyyy too high. If you brought these over I wouldn't even plug them in without high pass Sonicaps in the crossovers. Those tweeters blow and Polk says you're stuck with them=GAME OVER. Recommended power 1000 Watts. Snatch up some 2.3 sda if you must.
