Portable Cassette Whining

Hi everyone,
I was trying to fix an old cassette player (Aiwa HS-J470), which has a problem I can only describe as a high pitched whine coming from the headphone jack (there are no internal speakers). The whine is present in radio or cassette mode, but does not impact the movement of the cassette or the radio band selector. I have tried testing the board's capacitors, but they all check out. I have cleaned the volume knob, cassette recorder switch, and the cassette start/stop switch with deoxIT. Also, I saw on the board evidence of a battery leakage, but the contacts all seem to function. Are there any problems like this you guys know of?

Thanks,
Marantz13

PS - I am a little new to repairing electronics so I don't know how to test everything properly. I also do not own all the equipment a professional likely does. IMG_3163.JPG IMG_3169.JPG
