Positioning of "Presence" Speakers (Yamaha)

So my Yamaha RX-A840 allows "Presence Speakers." I know they are supposed to go in front and high. My question is, should they be angled downward towards the main seating or are they intended to have a wider dispersion and pointing them straight out would be more appropriate?

From what I have seen of those type of speakers they are set up on top of the front mains firing upwards.

High and outside of the main speakers, the idea being they replay the signature reflected sound of each venue. Angle does not seem to be terribly critical, they work well firing straight out. I angled mine in a bit because of an irregular room, but not downwards.
