Possibly Dumb Question Sansui SR1050C

Mr. Analog

Hey Sansui Lovers --I recently picked-up a Sansui SR 1050C turntable. It is pretty near mint, even came in the original shipping box and has most of the little parts right down to the tracking weight scale. I unpacked it and was putting it together when I noticed a sticker on the deck under the platter that says 230 volts 50 hertz. It has an American-style plug, but I figured before I plug it in and toast it I would ask around to see if anyone knows whether that means it works with both voltages or I should be looking for a switch or it only works with 230 in which case we now know why it is so minty… :headscrat

One of the experts will chime in sooner or later, but I would assume that if it was dual voltage, it would say so. If it came with the operating manual, it will probably have the specs in the back.

It sounds to me like you have a European (and Mexico, for that matter) version that's 50hz. period. Using it on 60hz might make it a waffle iron.
