Hi, was just wondering if any AK members are also poster collectors. No, not the 4 or 5 dollar Walmart posters, I am talking about rare tour posters vintage concert posters, rare silkscreended limited editon posters. Stand up and be counted and show off some of your goodies here.

A recent Eddie Vedder poster for a stop in Australia. Beautiful job done by Marq Spusta, one of the many newer artist producing great posters for a new generation.

GREAT art on that poster...that's what I look for when I buy my stuff, the artist/band/event helps, but lousy art doesn't get money or wall space.

I'm not really a poster collector, but I have a couple I like. I have a (cheap) reprint of the "once upon a time in the west" movie poster, one for Sepulturas "Arise" album. And the one I like the most so far (for a show I wasn't at:D) this 'un:

That's a one-printing local poster for the venue, limited to 200, I have 101 I think:scratch2:

Hoping to find some more band posters, and, well...wall space:yes:

I usually make a poster part of the budget when I buy concert tickets. The framing budget is the hardest part, for me. And I'm running out of useable wall space.
I don't have any pics, but one of my favorites is a Pearl Jam poster from their Canadian tour in 2006(I think). The Jeff Beck and James Brown posters I pulled off of telephone poles are pretty special to me, too. Plus the price was right:D
I guess I should take some pictures some day.

Just like my 60's baseball card collection, I gave away all my concert posters when I got 'older'......I'm sooooooo DUMB!!!

If i really dig a show, I always try to grab one of the 11 x 17 handbills off the wall on the way out. There's something about the off-handedness of some of these that makes them really special....and they bring back the memory of the show that night too which is always a blast

Ive been looking into collecting vintage posters, but i want to "find" them at estate sales, and garage sales. Not pay $400.

I only have space for one right now, but my two favorites are full-size UK display posters of the Pink Floyd "Back Catalogue" advertisement and the Grateful Dead "Without a Net" tour. The GD poster has a sticker on the corner indicating that extra shows were added at Wembley Arena, which dates it to October of 1990, but it needs a lot of restoration work.

I've got a large black and white lobby poster for the movie: "Two Lane Blacktop" that was signed by James Taylor. I'll try to figure out how to get an image of it on here sometime soon. It's one of my true keepers.

I ain't gonna be working on Dizzys farm no more.

And yes you can find the story about this poster on line. Disney had a Stroke over it and sued the poor SOB's that created it. They also bought up or TOOK all the stock they could find even going from head shop to head shop looking for them. it's starting to reappear and once and a while I have spotted one on eBay. Mine has some damage and I would put its value at around $75.00 nothing compared to a 1930's Aviation advertizing poster but still pretty cool for a late 60's headshop blacklite poster.

I saw a Jimi Hendrix flying eyeball original print poster...for $950 last week. It was in great shape...but that's a lot of jack for me!

Love the concert posters. These are my two favorites on the wall.

The Garcia I know is a repro, not sure about the Doors one. Doesn't really matter, they just bring back memories. And that's why I acquired them.

Just like this one:

As you can tell by my avatar, I'm kind of partial to those sweet spindle lickers on the Kansas Audio Visions LP ... I'd give a nut for one of those.

However ... danged if I'm a gonna pay this kind of money for one!

AUDIO VISIONS 1980 TOUR POSTER

I have 2 from the latest Pearl jam show(it came in purple and the limited one was in yellow), one from Eddie Vedder 2008, one TV on the Radio, and about 7 Explosions in the sky.
