Power Switch for Luxman LV-105 Amplifier

Hello All,

I'm new here and have an urgent question, but am not sure which is the best category in which to post it. It concerns my search for a part of a very nice integrated amplifier that I recently acquired.

The amplifier is a Luxman LV-105, which is a mid-late 80's 'hybrid' model that uses a pair of vacuum tubes to drive a MOSFET output stage. Perhaps someone out there is familiar with this amplifier.

Anyway, as I am trying to repair and restore it, I am in 'desperate' need of the main push-on/push-off power switch (or entire power board for that matter, whichever is easier to find). The original power switch has been damaged and cannot be engaged. The part number on the switch appears to be 'SDU3P' and 'TV-5'. At this point the amp is in great condition and ready to go, with the exception of this part  (I was able to wire it up to run temporarily and am very impressed with it's sound)

I am wondering if anybody happens to have (or knows someone who has) access to the power switch for this model, either from spare parts or a broken model that has been written-off for parts or repair.

Any help, advice, or offers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly,
Mark

Contact AK member Tarior... or see his listing 380972056594 on eBay - quite possible that's the switch you need. In general, there are a lot of Alps switches floating around out there, if you post a picture here of yours we can probably point to a suitable item for sale somewhere.

Hi John,

Thanks for the info :), actually I came across his listing and purchased the switch. My only concern is that it is a TV-3 instead of a TV-5 which I have. I think this is a current rating (3 amps vs. 5 amps), but hopefully that won't be a problem.

The switch I have looks exactly like the one in the photo of his listing (attached).

If you happen to know of a SDU3P TV-5 (instead of a TV-3), I would still appreciate knowing where to get one. Thanks again.

Mark

Can probably calculate the amperage requirements of the amp to determine if it needs the higher current switch, if so and the switch isn't available, there are good threads on AK about adding an SCR or AC relay circuit to handle the load better.
