I know that replacement switches for Marantz's can be ordered for not much money, and this is my backup plan.
I recently acquired a 2270 with the common faulty switch problem and am replacing it.
I went to a local electrical supply store that has a good selection of switches and located a push on-off switch that is

Confusingly, it also says 3A 250vac on the right hand side of the switch (See link above)? Not sure what that means - is that when it's pushed into the ON position?
I managed to rig the switch up into the orignal housing so it's easily mountable into position, all's good there.
Probably the most important thing I need to run by AK'ers is how dangerous or not is it to use a switch that is rated differently than the original and especially with 5A/250V? I think I've heard reference on the forums of people successfully using a 5A/250V instead of the original. Not sure how imporant the 40A rating is.
The last thing that I am unsure of is how to wire this. I have three wires- orange, yellow and brown. The brown was soldered to two points on the original. On the new switch I have 4 prongs on top. I also bought a snubber cap, and that will have to be attached too.
I know most people will advise just going with the switches offered online, which I may do in the end. I just want to see this project through to the end if it makes sense.
