anyone has any info. on vintage powered advent speakers?
i read from one of the threads that it's the best sounding advent.
i wonder what makes it the best sounding and how much it might cost me if i want one. i've never seen one and i read that it has same drivers as the large advent. i guess the built in power section makes it more powerful?

Like a powered subwoofer, each speaker has it's own plate amp mounted on the rear panel. I heard a used pair back around 1980. Too far back for me to remember my impression of how they sounded though.

I've got four I'm watching for another AK member. I haven't played them (they aren't mine), but I know that the amp sends 100w to the woofer and 50 to the tweeter- kind of like a bi-amped Advent with good power. Amps are built in to them.

I also know they can be a bit problematic, but I doubt I'd really worry about that.

For the price, the member here got them for chump change- it was a suprise how cheap they went for. I dunno what they normally sell for.

Play as much as you want! No one is stopping you from recapping :D

From what I remember of them, they aren't any different than the 5002s other than the amps.
