Powered Vs. Passive Subwoofer

Crappy music?

You may listen to 'crappy' music (whatever that is to you), but your taste is the best on this planet. Otherwise, it wouldn't be your taste. :thmbsp:

No one can argue that. :nono:

I've heard a couple good sounding passive subwoofer systems over the years and that may be the key, they were designed together as a system. (The ADS SubSat2 (L200e's & a Sub6) and the ADS SW4 w/ CM5's come to mind.) But those same passive subs did not sound all that good with other speakers and it came back to the balance between subwoofer and satellite as mentioned.

I have not heard a passive sub that doesnt sound muddy and lacking true bass. Off the shelf, powered subs seem very limited at times. I prefer a seperate enclosure with a dedicated amp and crossover.:thmbsp:
