Pre-amp suggestions <= $150

Second on the SAE TWO PA10. NICE preamp that punches high and sells cheap.
I've never had a broken Adcom Pre/tuner, and I've had several, and I like them.

But this is for your garage. Go buy a POS at the thrift store. You can pick up Kenwood KC-207 for cheap.
 
If your just talking about a garage unit it would be cheaper and much easier to just pick up one of the many good receivers. You can find alot of great deals on receivers. choices and the number of preamps are fairly slim at that price point.
 
Great idea, but here's the catch. I want to start getting more separates so that I can switch out units between listening areas in the house.

your looking for flexibility. find a receiver with pre outs. now you can use it as a pre amp, power amp or receiver and still inexpensize.
