Preamp 3800, anybody using it with two power amps?

Hi everyone, I have a 140 Power amp without a proper preamp and I'm considering both a 250 power amp and a 3800 pre. Maybe I'd go first for a pre and then for the second power amp.

Anyway I've read in the manual that the 3800 is able to "feed" two power amps *simultaneously*
Now the seller tells me that you can connect two power amps but only one of them can be used at a time. Not sure what that means.

Anybody did try this preamp with two power amps? I don't understand how would it work with two power amps and how would I switch from one to the other. Thanks!

I have a 3800 that I use with multiple amps including the 140,250M and 170DC.
It can be connected to 2 amps simultaneously.
It helps if your power amp has a volume control like the 140 so you can "fine tune" if you want.

I'm reaching that point where "I have to have it" hehe. I was going for the 3200 initially (the natural match for the 140), which in fact isn't nowhere to be found locally, but I already have the 1070 amp using it as pre.. And I don't see too many improvements. The 3800 on other hand.. looks SO good. I might go for the 3800 now and then consider (consider = save the money for, lol) the purchase of the 250 (same vendor has both)

Just make sure the 3800 is in good working order as it contains a pair of unobtainable IC chips whereas the 3200/3600 do not.

Oops that important. In fact it's quite a bit of money down here so I got to consider every aspect.
