Hi folks--I own a Bellari VP130 with Gold Lion tube, then got an itchy consumer-finger late last night and bought a Pro-ject Tube Box S-2 to replace it. After 10 years, the Bellari had started to feel somewhat soft and lacking in tight bass. I'm also tired of the Bellari not having an on/off switch, and I never use the headphone jack. Now it's the next day and I've seen the charge on my credit card, and I'm wondering whether this will be a worthwhile upgrade for $475. Does anyone have thoughts about whether the Pro-ject will make a big enough difference to try it? Otherwise, I can continue using the Bellari as my main and send the Pro-ject back before opening for full refund. Thinking a better next option would have been to invest in a better power supply for the Bellari. Thanks for any feedback.
The rest of my system: Rega RP3 with Ortofon 2M Bronze, CJ ET3 pre-amp (no phono stage), Mcintosh 275 amp, and Harbeth 7es3 speakers.
