I want to hook up a NAD preamp into a low power Scott 200b EL34 tube amp for can listening.
The NAD has both a 'normal' 12V and a 'high" 16V outputs.
I know the NAD headphone section is linked to the 16V outs and drops the voltage, but after hearing the headphone section it's "meh, it's handy to have but there are better options for any actual extended listening.
What output Voltages would a 1966 tube amp like best and how to know?
BTW, This isn;t for "cranking", I rarely run the preamp out no more than 2/3 vol.
The Scott works best with cans @ 2/3 Vol as well.
Any advice or thread reference to help other than more trial and error testing?
