Picked up this console a few months back. I've been looking for a modern design Fisher for a few years. It had spent its whole life in a mid century house and is perfect. Hard to believe these are still out there to be found. The 600 in my opinion is better sounding than the other Fisher receivers, but I love the EL84 tube. The wood looks Teak, did fisher have Teak consoles? Sorry for the dark photos.

Nice. I have a TA-600 that was not a console version. I think all of the console versions were the earlier series. There is a thread on here with some service fixes for those should you want to go through the restore process.

Not sure if its mentioned in there or not, but I also put zener diodes across the phono tube heaters. Gives a power bump, but more usefully its not quite so hard on the phono tube heaters.

Oh so beautiful... an upper mid-range fisher console in excellent condition.

The brass faced fisher tuners and receivers were from a special era.

Thanks all, for the info. Positive it's Teak. This receiver sounds great as is, but I'm going to do the recommended updates before putting it into use.
