Came across this beauty at a Habitat for Humanity the other day for only $20. It was clean enough I could see it was in good shape and they said it worked and had a short warranty period. My buddy has one and has all the original documents with it that I can reference and let me know about the issue with the power switches and told me I can use his cleaner he got specifically for his unit.
I didn't realize just how good of shape this thing was in though until I cleaned it up last night. Its got a couple small scratches on the volume knob and then the chip in the case that you can see in the picture. Other than that there really isn't even a scratch on it. There is next to no static in any knobs and only one light is blown out on the front panel. I was initially planning on at least looking in to having it recapped but now after listening to it some I am only going to clean the switches up and replace the lights so they all match, plus I might as well do all of them while I am in there or one will blow out a week later. I may still do the caps on the power board though since this is a 35 year old unit.
I am pretty tempted to sell it just because I know I could make a pretty penny on it, but at least for now I am going to keep it and use it as my primary receiver. The pictures don't really do it justice in my opinion. I still cant believe just how good of shape this thing is in.
P.S. Anybody know what size of the lamp bulbs for the front face to get? I am asking my buddy who changed out his but just in case he doesn't remember I figured I would ask.
