Primaluna Prologue One power tubes

Has anyone tried different power tubes in the Primaluna Prologue One like 6L6 tubes, KT88s and the others on which this self biasing amp will operate?

If so, what did you discover sound-wise with the change from the EL34s.

I'd be interested to go out and buy some different power tubes for giggles if some of you guys have tried them with success.

I have a PL5, using the stock KT88's for way over a year now.

Try replacing the input tubes first. Much cheaper, and it does give an improvement.

I have two quads of EL34's from another amp and they don't sound as good as the stock output tubes in the PL5.
 
I've had a PL 5, and now I have a pair of PL 7s. Best thing I ever did was to replace the original KT88 power tubes. Rolling some old driver tubes also had major results but upgrading to EH KT88 tubes opened up the sound dramatically. EH is all I can afford right now but an Octal of gold lion KT88s are on my short list.
 
Yes, I've heard the Gold Lions and they are special. I highly recommend you try them!

So, I can put KT88s in the PL1, correct? And I can put 6L6 tubes in the PL1, right?

Has anyone tried these power tubes in a PL1 and if so, how do they sound compared to the EL34s?
