Prince Harry : The Kid has got Guts!

Prince Harry is to return to Afghanistan, despite threats from the Taliban to kidnap or kill him. He is going to be flying Apache helicopters, which as far as I know are not troop carrying helicopters, they're used in combat.

IMHO, the kid has guts to return there, knowing he's going to be a target.

Yep, the Apache is an attack helicopter and a pretty badass one at that. Best thing to do when someone threatens you? Show up in an Apache with a few friends.

Royalty is supposed to engage in combat, personal leadership in war is the primary justification for having kings and princes. At Agincourt Henry V received a blow from a French soldier that dented his helmet.

Note that just this week archeologists found bones in a ruined abbey that may be those of Richard III, the last English king killed in combat. Previous English kings killed in combat were Richard I, killed by a crossbowman while besieging a French castle, and Harold Godwinson, last Saxon king of England, killed fighting the Normans at Hastings.

Only a short time earlier Harold had defeated an invading army of Northmen near York, a battle in which the king of Norway, Harald Hardrada, was killed.
