El Duke check out Opus 33 1./3 thread on Audio Asylum turntables section from 2/22/18 re SoundSmith retipping his Denon DL-160 with Peters recommended sapphire LC, cost $299, from Opus report worth every penny and has it mounted on a Technics table like your SL-1300.

If anyone is complaining about the wight and string technics it's been a true and simple way for anti skate for decades! Get some tweezers and pull the string though the loop and then put on! It will not fall off. Some common sense goes a long way!
