Pro Studio home stereo on CL

They do that everywhere.....combine basic AV receivers, cd players, etc with those crap speakers and list them as some major audio system. It's like if you put little sugar sprinkles on top of poo, you still have poo.

Given the sound quality of some modern Internet music, I wouldn't be surprised at any mix of components.

I get a kick out of some of these CL ads. Not mine and no affiliation.

Our local craig's list is God aweful isn't it Carl? It is really rare there is even anything decent listed on there (Hi-Fi) let alone something I'd want.

Other than 1,000 mint classical music CD's owned by a professor listed on there for $300, I can't tell you the last time I expressed interest in an add.

Most of the time it is. I did find a pair of mint Polk Audio 5+JR speakers a couple of years ago, and today there were a pair of PSB Stratus Silver's. The PSB's are no bargain at $599 though. There are also a pair of B&W DM640's for $500, but they are in Pittsburgh and not a deal either. I also found a pair of Sanus metal speaker stands a couple of months ago for $40. They are perfect for the Polks. Although presently, both the speakers and the stands are not being used and are stashed in a closet.

I keep a wanted ad up on CL for speakers in the hopes someone maybe getting ready to take to GW will contact me first. Haven't really had any luck, I've had some laughably sad offers though. So many white van speakers even though I said I don't want them - I guess the people who have them don't know that's what they have. Surprised people don't at least google the things they own. Someone offered me a pair of those "Pro Studio" brand speakers - looked like they had two 15" drivers and at the top was a recessed tweeter (Pizeo I'm sure). It even had watt meters on the front...and just like this setup here, it was with some BPC receiver and other stuff.

I'd rather find good speakers with blown woofers than a mint condition junk speaker - and the latter sure seems to be common.
