ProAc Response One SC - how to connect

Hi Guys,

I hope all is well. I was recently gifted a pair of ProAc Response One SC speakers that I would like to use in my living room. However I'm at a loss of how to connect them via speaker wire. There are 4 connectors as opposed to the standard two. Has anyone encountered these before? I ran a search, but didn't see anything. Thanks in advance!

There are a few ways. You can use 'bi-wire' speaker cables which will have one set of speaker terminations on one (amp) end and two sets on the other (speaker) end.

You can use your existing speaker cables to connect to one set of terminals and get some 'jumpers' which are basically really short speaker cables that will go from one set of terminals to the other set. Many jumpers will have bananas on one end and spades on the other end.

Hope you get them up and running. For many years, they were my absolute favorite small speaker at any price point. Knew a guy that had a much larger main system built around Apogee Divas, but had a small bedroom purpose built for a pair of slightly modified One SCs. He really went all out on that room. None of the walls were exactly parallel, ceiling was rebuilt to be slanted. He had exceptionally nice ancillary gear, but even if all that stuff was 1/10th the $$$ he had invested, it would still likely have been one of the most impressive systems I've ever heard, again, at any price.

In the mean time, you could do something like this.

Thanks for the reply! So basically if have the cooper wire exposed a few inches I can thread them through each red and black jack where both red are on the same wire and both black are on the same wire? I'll give it a shot!

Those are nice gifts. The top set of connections are for the tweeter and the bottom set are for the woofer. If you have a large enough speaker wire I would just connect your speaker wire to the woofer and have a jumper wire to the tweeter. And yes connect the black to black etc. Sometimes with a second order crossover they might want to have them wired out of phase but in this case you don't have to worry about it. You can also buy jumper connectors to make it even easier but most will just run extra speaker wire from one speaker post to the other. The pictures above are accurate.
