problem installing office 2010

I just downloaded Office 2010 on my newest laptop with Windows 8 (which I hate). It downloaded the program and said to save the install icon to the desktop. I did that. When I dbl click the icon to start the install, it asks what program do I want to use to open the file?? Never had this happen before. Usually if you dbl click a icon, it runs. Any ideas? Its a legit download with the pass key, etc. How do I open this file X17-75058?

I'd bet if you rename the installer (right click, select rename) and put ".exe" at the end without the quotes you will succeed. I'd guess it got saved without its file extension, somehow, weirdly.

I bet that'll do it. My Office 2010 downloaded file is X17-75238.exe

1,050,389,679 bytes, by the way, just to see if you have a file of about that same size.
