I bought a Denon AVR e-400 (185 wpc) used and initially it worked fine with all my gear. My gear is definitive technology bp8 towers (200 watts), Klipsch icon 25 center channel (not sure of the watts). Well I literally just moved. Upon trying to hook up everything in the new apartment and turning on the reciever, it went straight into protect mode and turned off.
I thought I would test removing all speakers and trying again. It didn't go into protect mode this time. I then tried each speaker individually, each one made the receiver go into protect mode.
I decided to try another reciever. My harman kardon AVR 235 (50wpc) and it worked just fine.
Does anyone know what could be the problem? I'm really desperate to find an answer for this
