Problem with Hitachi PS-48

Hello, first sorry with my english i don't speak english only spanish, i'm use google translator a lot. I have a Hitachi PS-48 1978 direct drive turntable, i buy the turntable eight years ago and it played perfectly for years. Recently it began to fail the spindle the platter, when i put the needle on the vinyl it don't start immediately, it have a delay of minutes and start to work alone. I don't know if I can explain correctly, but it's a beautiful turntable and i would like to repair it. Very thanks in advance. Andrés from Uruguay.
