Problem with Sony SCD-CE595 SACD Changer Solved??

Picked this player up very cheap. It played the first SACD I loaded but it was a Multi "Super Session AFZ5186" and I had to find the manual to get it to play the two track layer. Sounds better then the Sony DVD/ SACD player I have in my 2nd main room system. Then I loaded Love "da capo" MFSL UDSACD 2130 and it would only play the CD layer. When I pressed the "CD/SACD" button it would say "not hybrid" and would not play the SACD layer, so then I pulled out my only single layer SACD Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde CS 841. The player took a long time to read this but it did read it and it played it. Then I placed the Love SACD into the player and then it did read and play the SACD layer. This player still will read most hybrid SACD's as CD's and not play the SACD layer unless I let the player read the Bob Dylan single layer SACD first. Very weird All of these SACD,s work in my Marantz DV-6001 SACD player as SACD's

This Sony (and many other brands) uses a "Dual Layer Optical Pickup" that employs two lasers. The one for CDs is different than the one for SACDs. I have a similar unit (Pioneer DV-47ai) and the SACD laser is going bad. Plays CDs perfectly but SACDs and DVD-As are hit or miss. Lately it is mostly miss so I have retired it to CDs only.
