Problems stereo decoder ON MOSFET receiver.

Hi guys, I have found a very nice receiver: a "REFERENCE 650 FET R". as it is written, it uses MOSFET drivers at O/P stage and makes sound very very good ! The only thing that bugs me is that it doesn't decoder FM stereo... I've started troubleshooting and got to an IC that is a PLL FM multiplex demodulator ( LA3350 ). CAn that be the source to my problem ? As I will never find the schematics for this receiver, does anybody know what is a "normal stereo decoding circuit" ? Using that IC ? Am I around the source of my problem ? I'M new to tuners...

P.S. the light doesn't turn on and the sound is definitely NOT in stereo.

Chap , without a schematic to be sure..... The LA3350 IC does the FM Demodulation plus drives the light . Go tohttp://www.nteinc.com/specs/1200to1299/pdf/nte1217.pdf this is the NTE replacement for it

Thanks Barney, I think that's what I'll start with; replacing this IC as it is suppose to do what doesn't work... I normally don't like the "try and error" method of troubleshooting but ...

Other hint is the "OSC network" has a 76 Khz ramp on it. I guess around 4 times 19 Khz ??? Is it what it is suppose to be ?
