Problems with normalization

I occasionally borrow some CDs from my local library. Last time I did that I ripped one song from a Rolling Stones disc and added that to a folder with other so called lossless songs on it. The new song was incredibly loud compared to the others. I looked all over for a free normalizer none of which worked. I've still got the music as described but I got discouraged and it's been untouched for about a year. Can anyone suggest something that really works ? BTW, it's a wav file. Thanks ...... AR

Why do they call it a normalizer ? Should be called a volume EQ

Volume leveling in MediaMonkey works great. In that case, I'd set the playback to "per track".

over compressed dynamically is over compressed. Hunt down less dynamically compressed source material. Only so much which can be done to undo these brickwalled, maximized, turds.
