What?
Two movies I can recall, one recent, one not so recent, both have McIntosh gear in them at some point. In As Good As It Gets, Jack Nicolson's character has what appears to be a 2ch amp behind his baby grand, sandwiched between some albums...
And recently in The Departed, Matt Damon has a McIntosh set up, amp, pre and CD player.
Question: It's obvious Diet Coke, and Diet Pepsi are strategically placing pop cans in movies now, has McIntosh jumped on the bandwagon, or is this a Jack Nicolson thing?
Just curious.

Your average movie audience can instantly pick Coke or Pepsi meaning that there is a huge sales considerations here. High end audio does not fall in that category, pretty much most viewers do not recognize or care what is there in the background, and to the masses the name McIntosh relates to the "other" computer brand.

The excellent McIntosh book, "For The Love Of Music" addresses this very topic...yup, strategic product placement.

We all can (and I'm sure do) experience strategic McIntosh placement in our listening rooms. :music:

Yes, Jack likes Mc. It has to be connected and working on the sets for him..

Thanks,
Ron

are you kidding, thought he's maybe a fan but hooked up and working on the sets is a riot.., at least he must be a music lover then, good & cool.

+1...You got that right.:music:

The first time I saw Mc gear in a movie was 9 1/2 weeks with Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke. If I remember, he puts Joe Cocker's Leave your hat on.

I don't have my Dr. Hunter S. Thompson reading materials at hand. But I seem to recall that he mentioned his McIntosh amplifier in a passage describing his fortified Aspen, Colorado compound. Does this ring a bell?
