Project HPM-60's... Need advice

**** it's possable that made a noticable improvement! :banana: :music:

Being as though the output is 96db! :yikes: It's probably much closer to the output of the other drivers! :guitar:
 
Looking at those x-overs, I would replace the inductors in a heartbeat. Go with some good foil air-cores and I think you'll hear a big difference.

Compare the size of that magnet to this original woofer....Hhmmm.

And 2" VC.

Yes his replacements look much beefier, but they aint cheap though at $40 each but
hey what can you get a used original par for and then there, well used aren't they.

So yah may be a very viable and worthwhile option. Do they just bolt in? No work to
get them in there?
 
They do just bolt in but when I screwed them in it was hard to turn the screws. Might be just a little off with the alignment but I got them in place. i'm no expert, however they handle everything you can throw at them. The Kenwood KR-7600 that i drive them with was originally rated at 70 WPC and Oaktree has one for sale that say measured 108 watts PC. And like I said earlier, we really cranked these up. Anyways...If you don't mind using non original, then a pretty decent alternative. Parts Express does have cheaper ones too. I went with the better woofers from Pioneer.
 
I understand the old woofers were based on the metric system, so the screw holes are just a little off to our normal Imperial measurements. Perhaps the newer Pioneer driver wasn't metric, hence why the screws were a bit tight?
