Project/One Mark IIV B Dial Cord Question

Hello,

I am refurbishing a Project/One Mark IIV B receiver and have a couple questions.

Among many other small issues, there was no dial cord on the unit when I purchased it. I sourced and purchased one from a guy who was parting the exact unit out.

I was able figure out the routing but there are a couple questions I have.

  1. With the tuner at dead center, should there be any cord wrapped around the tuner wheel?
  2. Now many times is the cord wrapped around the flywheel?

I’m hoping there is someone on this forum with a Mark IIV B who can take a look at theirs and help me out with these questions. Maybe a couple photos if you can.

I kept researching and found a solution that worked for me. I’m sharing that solution in hopes that it might help someone else.

Question 1: is irrelevant.

Question 2: I found a comment somewhere that the Mark IIIB was similar to the Poineer 700 series.

I downloaded the Pioneer SX-750 Service Manual and the section on Dial Cord Stringing looked exactly like the inside of my unit.

Followed the instructions, it took three attempts and some blue painters tape to keep the dial cord from slipping out of the pulleys, but it worked and the dial is tracking as it should.

I have attached a screen shot of the instructions for reference.
