Proton D1200 vs Rotel RA-870BX - which one would you use?

I currently use a Rotel RA-870BX with a set of 4 Jamo D165's (front & rear).
Amp is from 1987, which rated 80W.

I think it's the most powerful stereo integrated Rotel model from the late 80's?

I've recently put my hands on this beautiful Proton D1200 Amp + Pre Amp (AP-1000) from 1986
Lovely VU meters.

This Proton, as I've heard was the most powerful amp back then, which produce around 100W per channel and even more with the DPD circuit.

BUT, I can only attach 2 speakers to it and not 4.
The Proton is indeed sound better than the Rotel. The Rotel seems to have a lack of bass.
Should I stay with the Proton?

Get a speaker switch box. Adcom made a nice one, you can find them on the bay, or parts express sells new. easy fix! If you search the proton here, lots of good info.

I've always liked that Proton, I'd probably end up using it most of the time. And, meters!!
