Ps audio - soloist in-wall power conditioner and mac amps

Has anyone used the PS AUDIO - SOLOIST IN-WALL POWER CONDITIONER with MAC amps? Is this a good idea, or will the amps work better without the power conditioning receptacles? I know adding a power conditioner between the wall and the amps is a no no, but what about these power conditioning receptacles?

Have not tried the Soloist. Have used the Duet and a high current Ultimate Outlet in all kinds of combinations with the Mc system. Currently have it set up like this-
Wall>Duet-1 outlet>MC602
Duet-1 outlet>Premier Power Plant>MS750+MDA1000.

The Soloist is the same as the high current ultimate Outlet except direct connect. Have been pleased with the PS Audio products-provides better separation and sound stage for my ears. Worth a demo!.

Shhhhh! Don't tell that to my system, it is very happy with the Richard Gray feeding it. :music:

PS Audio is good stuff and many recommend them for McIntosh as well as Richard Gray. Try it and give it a listen if possible especially if you have power problems. I`ve used Richard Gray and Running Springs Audio with great results on my McIntosh system and never heard a decrease in dynamics or transparencey. Give it a listen and most of all trust your ears.

Probably a good idea to AVOID putting a coil-based power conditioner in front of your amp – these can reduce dynamics for big amps. Other PLCs like Richard Grey and Shynyata have diffrent ways of cleaning up AC noise that many here report is less harmful. The PS audio duet or soloist would work well for front equipment if you have an issue with noise. I’m thinking of adding an in-wall soloist outlet behind my LCD TV to help clean up nest of wires.

My RGPC is mainly a really big coil. I think the trick is to use one big enough to not limit power supply during high demand intervals.

Ps Audio Soloist and Quintessence combo

Hi dwmann..

My system is very small and modest in contrast Ivan's yet here are
my findings

Currently I am using a Soloist feeding a Quintessence and using the various
iso-zones individuallly for Mx110, Ah! tubed cdp and a Denon POA 2200
200wch ss. The Denon will briefly dim houselights from cold start. I mention
this because so far the Quintessence has not limited or constrained the dynamics in any way. In case you may have had a similar concern

The results have been so positive, I spend far more time listening than ever before. Going on almost a year since I got them and still can't get over the
improvements.

This review was published after the Soloist and Quintessence landed at home. My experience is very much the same as this review.

Somehow there is a synergy and improvement overall with the Soloist feeding the Quintessence...I beleive PS Audio recommends doing the
same for the Quintet and Duet.

Best Wishes
