PS capacitors (filter, reservoir, smoothing...)

I am trying to learn how to read audio schematics and identify various devices (especially capacitors) and their functions within the circuit.

I have read people referring to power supply capacitors as low-pass filters, reservoir caps & smoothing caps. Are these all different terms for the same capacitor application or are they different applications? Especially if they are different applications, can anyone give me a tip for identifying them.

Thanks.

Those are all the functions of filter caps in the power supply, which are both filtering out any ripple from the rectifiers and acting as an energy storage device.
