PSB-40 vs JBL L36

I am looking for some info on these speakers. PSB-40 and JBL-L36. I trying to decide between the 2. Obviously this a comparing apples to oranges but any feedback on the sound of these 2 would be great. They both get pretty good reviews on here. I haven't heard them and both have woofers repaired with new surrounds. Obviously the JBL is a higher price point. Are they worth the extra 3x the price? They will be paired to a Marantz 2235b and will be a variety of music played. Thanks for any info!

I've never been a huge fan of the L36. Paper-cone tweeter and dinky alnico woofer don't leave much to be impressed by. The L36 does have a decent midrange, but overall I feel that even cheaper 80's JBLs (830T, J350A, etc) sound better than the L36. The L36 is like a baby L100 in many ways - if you like the L100.

I don't have much experience with the PSB-40.

Hi Mr. Escasio, I have a pair of JBL L-36 with a Marantz receiver 2270 and sounds wonderful. I think is a perfect match. Also I have a JBL L80t but I prefer my L-36 over the L-80t.
I can't talk about prices because it belong' s in Dollars and Sense forum but is the price is fair I will go for them.
Regards.
