I picked up a pair of PSB Stratus Gold's...the originals I believe, from another A.K.member. I'm running them with a Yamaha Mx1000 amp, and a Kenwood C2 pre in the set up.I always wanted to try out a set and I have to say I am not disappointed! These speakers sound really nice! Heavy and well built.... good thing I'm strong! LOL. Clean and clear...great bass, just the right amount of bass IMHO.Nice Dark Cherry Finnish... Impressed. I don't have them Bi amped, just traditional 2 channel. I feel this Yammy has the Minerals to drive them. Fine Canadian speakers. Any thoughts fellow A.K.ers?KIMG1069.JPG KIMG1069.JPG

Which sounds best; PSB or ADS?
Hmmm that is a good question? They are in two different systems. Always loved ADS's sound. Although because they are in different systems it's not a fair comparison maybe. The PSBs have a cleaner defined sound. I'm really hearing some things though them I have not heard before...more details. The bass is surprisingly clean and deep also. 810's are really smooth sounding speakers, they do everything well. If I could keep only one set? 810's vs Stratus Gold's...Hmmm a tough one. I'm leaning heavily towards the PSB's. I better shoot out maybe between my L1290's and the PSB's. They have different signatures....that's what I like about this hobby. You can really hear the difference in gear and taylor to your liking. ADS's are definitely easier to drive amp wise and are older,(may affect their sound a little). I just felt like putting the word out..do not to pass these PSB's by! They can be had for good prices now and they are really good speakers.

I've got a pair in my HT setup. I sold a pair if Kefs 104/2's to get these and dont regret it. They sure can go loud and still keep its composure. No sub needed. Im very happy.

I've had some time now to listen to the PSB's against my ADS1290/2's. Same system in 2 different locations now. If I had to choose between the two...it would be the ADS speakers. Just a fuller sound and easier to drive. Bass goes deeper on the PSB's, but the midrange can't compare to the 1290's. Both are fine speakers. It took awhile to as it should with good speakers.ADS just made some quality stuff that's hard to beat at a reasonable price range to this day.
