PT id

opa1

Tenacious
I took out a mono amp from a zenith console. It was trashed. The pt is quite large 4.25 tall-3.25wide. It has the id numbers as follows.
a95-1052
117volt
50-60
100watt
136913
It had these tubes.5y3gt,6ba6,6au6,6t8,6j5,6v6gt.[some missing]
I'm wanting to know the specs on the pt. Is there someplace to find out?
Thanks,

Well, according to a sams schematic of a GE mono radio/record player with the same tube compliment, the 5Y3 is 5 volt, 2 amp. the 6.3 volt tap is (of course) 6.3 volt, 2.5 amp. the high voltage tap (may not be the same as your zenith) is 540 volt, center tapped @ .068 amp DC.

What else would you need to know?

If you had the model or chassis number I might be able to turn up the Sams folder... which would have transformer specs. But 70-90 mA would be about right with a single 6V6. DC winding resistance (re-to-red) would be another clue.

I couldnt find a chassis number on it. I'm going to check the console it came from, might have a schematic or model number.

I was able to find a schematic for the 9E21 (no 'Z'). 340VDC after the 5Y3 rectifier, so about 300-0-300V. 200 Ohm winding so 100 mA maximum (2W copper loss). 5.0V @ 2A, 6.3V @ about 2.5A.

Thanks a bunch. The z in the model number might be for the tuner section of the chassis. Now I got figure out what I'm going to make out of it.:scratch2:

Why not leave the power transformer on the mono amp....and turn into an amp? Doubt there would much use for it outside the amp.

It's really trashed out. The PT, choke, and a couple tubes are all thats left. I thought I might be able to use the pt. From the specs, It's not going to work for much.
