Hi guys,
I am faced with the decision in the question above, and have to choose between the Silver 8s and the Uni-Fi UF5 Slims.
My audio dealer suggests the ELACs (by far, he said), and I just wated to check if this is also the folks' around here opinion. I will be landing the purchase about 30 hours from the time of this post.
I will be driving them without corrections (pure direct) on a Marantz SR5011 hooked up to an Emotiva BasX 300 power amp, and using a Marantz UD7007 as a primary source.
Of course, I am open to other suggestions in this price range (about 1500 euros here in Europe).
THIS review of the UF5s is pretty convincing, however:
