Purchasing a Dynaco ST70 that I can't Test

from the photos sure looks pretty clean. If it were me I would go for it. I have owned 4 or 5 dyna st70s over the years. Pretty nice amp. I would not be too concerned about the missing fuse. Most likely it was either removed when the PS shorted out or the fuse was grabbed to replace a fuse in something the owner was using. At a minimum you should plan on replacing the main filter cap, the Bias caps, and at least test the coupling caps for leakage or replace them. The Dyna 70 is akin to the small block chevy in automotive circles. Tons and tons of aftermarket parts and OEM type parts are available for it from quite a few on line suppliers.

If you are not sure about your skills there are tons of folks here on AK that can help you out. You may want to download the schematics and manuals for the amp. Just take your time, don't get in a rush and make sure you install new parts with the correct polarity.

Mine has popped a fuse at start up before. In the last 12 years or more that's been the only one. I put a fast blow fuse in it the first time anyway. It happens.
But it would be a good idea to have it checked out first to make sure something in the amp didn't caused the fuse to blow. Maybe a short in the cap can? Still, a minor thing to replace.

So long as all the iron is good and it's in good cosmetic shape, I'd get it and have it checked out and serviced as needed.
