Thanks tubed, that's how mine are on the 2ohm side but had 1600uf with 4.5mh coil on the 4ohm side.

I've attached an updated drawing of the QLS alongside a drawing of the Q-2. The Q-2 dimensions were taken from mine.
When I get further along in my look-alike, sound-alike QLS "New Generation" construction project I will start a new thread.

I never noticed that the drivers are set up a little different on the original "black baffle" version compared to the "veneer baffle" version! The originals are just the way you set your drawing up, with the space between the center EMITs and domes aligned, the veneer baffle have the center line of the 8 EMITs level with the top of the third dome. I wonder why the change...

tang band makes excellent drivers for really good price, I've used them in many projects
a friend of mine made line arrays he used the tangband w4-1337sdf and hivi planar tweeters. good down to around 80hz which he had crossed over to 2 15"s

Seems like at least three variations: the prototype used in the brochure (my first drawing), the black baffle version (my second drawing, with the Q-2), and then the veneer baffle version. By documenting the dimensions, I'm hoping to gain some insight into "why" the drivers were positioned (or re-positioned) as they were. For example, on the Q-2, I never realized that there was a diagonal alignment between the center of the mid-bass driver, the lower-most mid-range dome driver, and the center of the lower-most EMIT driver. Pretty obvious from the drawing, but not something I noticed before. The fact that the QLS EMIT array and mid-range arrays were brought together horizontally between the prototype and black baffle version says something. On the veneer version, was the EMIT array lowered slightly relative to the mid-range array -- or was the mid-range array raised slightly relative to the EMIT array? From what you say, the change was slight -- but why make it at all unless there was a reason? The two arrays seem to already be centered vertically relative to each other on the black baffle version...
